Frettons, a Grade II Listed Property
Nestled in the picturesque village of Danbury, Essex, Frettons, a Grade II Listed Property, stands as a beautiful demonstration of 18th-century architecture. This historic property recently underwent a transformation that has enhanced its outdoor space to match the elegance of its storied past. The project, focused on refurbishing their boundary wall and creating a pool area that perfectly fits the house’s character, highlights the intricacies and care that go into working with listed properties.
The Grand Hotel Case Study
The Grand Hotel in Leigh-on-Sea, originally known as The Family and Commercial Hotel, was once the social hub of the town, with a rich history dating back to 1899. Built in an Edwardian baroque style, the hotel was designed to exude grandeur and luxury, quickly becoming a popular destination for both visitors and locals. However, by the late 20th Century, the hotel had started to fall into disrepair, which only worsened until the mid-2010s, when developer Mick Norcross invested significantly in a restoration plan to save the iconic building.

Devlin Developments partnered with Classic Brick to create unique, bespoke blends for two exclusive housing sites. After being impressed with our Rural Multi bricks on previous builds, they sought custom blends for their Carbrooke and Great Ellingham sites. Our tailored service allowed them complete freedom to design blends that met both aesthetic and planning requirements. The result? Stunning, one-of-a-kind homes that highlight the versatility and beauty of Classic Brick’s products, all delivered with full project support.

Brizes Park is a stunning example of how Classic Brick’s bespoke blends can enhance a heritage restoration. For this project, the client wanted to maintain the historical charm of the estate while introducing modern new builds. Working closely with the design team, our Rural Multi blend blended with the existing architecture, preserving the estate’s heritage while adding a contemporary touch.
