We are proud to announce once again the remarkable achievement of our product excellence confirmed through recent retesting by the esteemed materials science authority Lucideon.
The Lucideon report reaffirms that our bricks meet the rigorous BS EN 771-1 standard confirming their exceptional durability, quality, and suitability for enduring architectural use.
Lucideon, a UKAS-accredited laboratory with a global reputation in materials testing and certification, plays a vital role in ensuring building products meet and exceed industry benchmarks. By once again upholding Lucideon’s high standards, we strengthen our position as a leader in the construction sector, offering customers products that are not only aesthetically authentic but also technically proven to last.
What the testing involves
To achieve this certification our handmade bricks underwent a comprehensive suite of assessments designed to simulate decades of real-world conditions.
This included:
- Freeze–thaw testing to verify long-term durability in severe weather (F2 classification).
- Water absorption analysis through both immersion and boiling methods, ensuring minimal porosity and maximum resistance to moisture ingress.
- Compressive strength measurement, confirming each brick can withstand substantial structural loads without compromise.
- Soluble salt content evaluation to prevent deterioration and unsightly efflorescence over time.
- Dimensional and void analysis to ensure precise manufacturing consistency and performance integrity.
Passing these tests is no small feat – every parameter must meet or exceed the demanding thresholds set by BS EN 771-1, providing independent proof that our bricks are engineered to endure for generations.
